ROTARY CLUB OF POONA DOWNTOWN
Minutes of the 10th BOD Meeting
Held on 16th April 2024, 2023, at the residence of PP Rtn Yezdi Batliwala
Present: Rtns Aruna Rathi, Zimra Israel, Sunil Holay, Shailendra Abhyankar, Bageshri Gogate, PNN Iyer, Shikha Mitra, Vinod Dua, Rajendra Nahar, Masarrat Tavawala

President Aruna welcomed everyone.
Minutes of the 9th BOD Meeting held on the 24th of March needed amendments so could not be adopted. It was decided that the minutes would be sent out for directors’ approval after the required amendments were made.
The directors presented their reports.
A. Director Without Portfolio Rajendra Nahar informed the Board that our Trust accounts with BOI and HDFC were frozen because new stringent KYC regulations. A lot of documents had to be submitted and we were required to get a new DARPAN ID. After a lot of paperwork and many visits to the bank, ultimately RCPD Trust has got a centralized DARPAN ID.
B. Treasurer’s Report
Rtn Sunil Holay reported that the balance in our Club and Trust accounts on 31st March 2024 were as follows:

Vice President Rtn. Masarrat Tavawalla was absent.
D. Community Service Non-Medical
Rtn. Bageshri Gogate reported:
i. The Vocational Excellence Awards function was held on the 27th of March 2024.
ii. A Vocational Guidance program was organized for 50 school children from Zilla Parishad schools. The program was conducted by PP Vikram Nabar and Colonel Uday Jagavkar, a certified career guidance coach. While the club paid for the online aptitude testing, Rtn. Vikram Nabar contributed Rs. 50,000 for one- to-one counselling of the 50 students.
E. Public Image
Rtn. Sujata was absent in the meeting.

Director, Rtn. Shailendra had nothing new to report.
G. Foundation
TRF Director Rtn. Yezdi Batliwala reported:
1. a. APF collection up to 12.04.2024 Rs. 20,16,001 - $24,416.00
b. Polio collection Rs. 10,000 - $ 120.48
c. CSR donation from Duroshox Pvt. Ltd. Rs. 36,31,000 - $43,754.22
for Radiation Center Global Grant
d. Cow Donation Global Grant by members Rs. 1,05,000 - $ 1265.06
Total Giving for TRF for the year Rs. 57,62,601 - 69,555.76
2. The Global Grant GG2456879 “RCPD-Jana Seva Foundation Vocational Skilling Centre”.
a. All Quotations already received. MOU between the Host Club RCPD and Cooperating Organization Jana Seva Foundation has been signed and forwarded to the Foreign Partner Club- Rotary Pakenham for signatures.
b. Once the MOU is attached the grant will be updated and locked. Expect that during this week itself.
c. Total value of the grant will be Rs 52,06,922 (USD 62734) without a single rupee spent by the club.
3. From the Donation of Rs.30,00,000 (Rs. Thirty Lakhs Only) which was received from Rtn. Suresh Balani from USA:
A – Pediatric Cardiac Surgeries – Rs. 20 Lakhs
a. Grant application is being uploaded. Grant number obtained is GG2463403. We are in the process of completing the grant application. Vinod dua will be the primary contact on behalf of our Club.
b. The total Value of the Grant including DDF plus RI matching amount less 5% Support amount will be Rs. 33.93,968 lakhs (USD 42096) l which will enable us to do minimum 23-24 Surgeries.
c. Rotary Club of Lancaster Sunrise, USA will be partnering us as Notional Partners for this Grant.
B. Anganwadi Upgradation - Rs. 10 Lakhs
a. Renovation work at 4 Anganwadis has been completed at a total cost of Rs 3.2 lakhs
b. Approximately 6 to 8 more Anganwadi will be taken for renovation.
H. Director, Rtn. Vinod Dua reported:
The Second Distribution of our current TB Nutritional program will be held on the 19th of April at Dr. Kotnis Hospital at 11.30 am
I. Membership and Strategic Planning
Director Rtn PNN Iyer reported the following:
1. His queries regarding change of Signatories and revival of FCRA were both reportedly cumbersome and hence to be dealt with if and when the times comes. But he still thinks that it is necessary and that we have to take the trouble and take the help of an Agent to deal with it..
2. Rtn Sanjay Mutha has officially withdrawn as the Treasurer for the Rotary year 2024-25.
3. Ann Preeti Gupta has expressed her willingness to become a Rotarian after 30th June 2024.
4. Rtn Dipti Bhosle wanted an acknowledgement of her resignation.
5. He also raised a query whether it is necessary to invite the DG
J. PP Rtn Zimra Israel reported :
The Educational Program supported by Foseco and conducted by Niramay which included girls from 25 slums had shown good results and should we get the funding we would continue the project in the coming year to include girls from 36 slums
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
After the meeting, BOD members and their spouses were cordially invited to stay for dinner.
