| Minutes of Meeting | Dazzling Diwali – 30th October 2021 – Venue – Boat Club ..Contributed by Masarrat Tavawalla Rotary club of Poona Downtown had organised a beautiful Diwali fellowship on 30th October at the Royal Connaught Boat club on Bund Garden Road. It was a well-attended fellowship with members dressed in the best festive attires. The venue was artistically decorated with marigold flowers which gave a very festive look. The fellowship committee had organised a musical Tambola and had put in great efforts which set the tone for the melodious evening. Ann Poroochi had conceptualised the Musical Tambola and coordinated with the entire fellowship committee for its execution. Promil Agarwal coordinated for arrangements at the Boat Club along with President Asis Ray. Ann Kripa our tech wizard took care of presentation of the entire process of songs with clockwise precision. She was assisted by Ann Veera Bhathena complimented her in every way. The tickets of the Tambola were sold at Rs 100 each which was printed by Rotarian Pervin Sadekar and the proceeds of the tickets went for the contribution for polio programme. We collected approximately 9000 plus. The prizes for Tambola were hampers of healthy snacks which were procured from GOODIES Store by Rotarian Masarrat Tavawalla The prizes were given for the following categories 1) Jaldi 5 2) All lines 3) 2 full houses The musical Tambola was followed by drinks n delicious food. The icing on the cake was the return gifts which was conceptualised by President Asis Ray which included a box of Soap, Agarbatti and Diyas. What a lovely evening which set the pre celebrations for Diwali. RCKP members , Rotaractors from Koregaon park and Viman nagar collected fresh , reusable clothes and other items and distributed to the needy villagers . Villagers were eager waiting for the donations and turned in large numbers . All the beneficiaries gathered at the Andgaon School premise . Sarpanch of Andgaon village Praful Marne , School Trustee Rajendra Marne and many signatories present during the distribution. The beneficiaries are mainly from Tribal communities . |

There were galore of prizes to be won by members, which included best dressed Rotarian, best couple Rotarian, best singer Rotarian. Highlight of the event was a lucky draw. The Live music team was awesome especially the female singer. Many Rotarians also. sung amazing songs and shook their legs as well. Plenty of snacks and drinks kept the party fun flowing. The lucky draw, prizes added sparkle to the night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed with the evening and wished each other a happy Diwali and new year. We also wish each member a happy Diwali. |
