| Minutes of Meeting | The meeting was called to order by President Girish at 7.30 followed by National Anthem. Then, President Girish welcomed Dr Shrikant Paranjape and his wife Mrs Swati Paranjape. Rtn Sanjay Bapat introduced the guest speaker. Dr Shrikant Paranjape explained various issues related to West Asian countries. He also spoke about various organizations in these countries and why and how they are having their wars for their rights. This was a very different and complicated topic; however, Dr Paranjape explained it in a simplified manner and made it interesting. Rtn Dada Savle delivered the vote of thanks. This was followed by the Rotary business. There were announcements related to purchasing equipment for the medical van and also the primary health center. President Girish, Secretary Sanjeev, and Rtn Sanjay Bapat visited the equipment vendors at Badalapur and selected the same. This was followed by Secretarial announcements Secretary PP Rtn Sanjeev announced the program for the next three weeks (as mentioned in the agenda). He also announced the birthdays and anniversaries of the members and anns (names mentioned in the agenda) and President Girish felicitated them. The meeting was adjourned. |

Finalization on One time Membership registration charges It was decided in the previous AGM dated 4th Feb 2023, that the registration charges to be collected from new members should be INR 5000/- Considering current scenario, it was deliberated and concluded to keep this one-time registration fees as INR 3000/- from now onwards until further change. Proposed by Secretary, seconded by president and approved by all members 2. Collection of Membership fees from new members As per the pro-rata of membership fees for current year i.e. INR 1500/- per month plus one time registration charges of INR 3000/- plus 6 months membership charges for RY 2024-25 of INR 9000/-, (any difference in these membership fees post Planning assembly of RY 24-25 shall be adjusted in remaining tenure’s fees.) Proposed by Rtn Dr Kiran, seconded by Rtn Shailesh, and approved by all members. It was suggested by Rtn Dr Kiran that we should prepare AV of our Club as a promotional material so that we can showcase in our upcoming Fundraiser to attract prospective members. |

| Meeting Agenda | Thursday. 28th March marked an important annual event of the calendar of RCPD. This event being held for more than 20 years, is a much awaited and well attended event. It was an evening to recognize, reward and celebrate the achievements of the selected awardees of the Vocational Awards. These were individuals who have succeeded despite many challenges and their stories were inspirational, to say the least! Instituted by distinguished members of Rotary Club of Poona Downtown, the 4 awards align well with our club's values and focus areas. Overcoming disabilities to achieve success, creating entrepreneurs who create more job opportunities, promoting sports and the spirit of sportsmanship (or sportswoman ship), and lastly, an award which is in sync with the Rotary motto of Service Above Self, an award for selfless service to humanity. Each award includes a certificate, a memento, a cheque for INR 21,000, and of course much applause and appreciation. |

| Minutes of Meeting | 1. The Karani – Malhotra Sports Excellence Award-The recipient of the award was a young powerlifter, Ms. Vaishnavi Machhindranath Doke. Undergoing treatment for Epilepsy, Vaishnavi was inspired and encouraged by her uncle who is an International Powerlifter. Practicing the sport with grit and determination Vaishnavi won a gold medal at the State Level powerlifting Championship and later went onto to win the overall Gold Medal at the 'Special Olympics Asian Powerlifting Championship in Malaysia. India's first female Powerlifter to achieve this feat! 2.Rotarian Ranveer and Ann Neelam Rathore Vocational Excellence Award, given to a differently abled person who is on the path to success despite challenges.Fate played a cruel joke on Belaji Shankar Patre, the recipient of the award, when an illness during childhood left him with a permanent disability in one leg. Nothing deterred this young man, who as a child started assisting his mother to support the family by working at grocery and vegetable shops, a laundry and selling goods in the old bazaar. 3.3. Rtn. Dipti and Spouse Ulhas Bhosle, Grassroots Social Reformer Award, given to any individual who single handedly, through his or her own efforts, society.The recipient of this award, Ms. Geeta Hasurkar, has an impressive list of achievements to her name. Working with the Andha Shraddha Nirmula Samiti, she has endeavoured to create awareness, educate, and eradicate the false beliefs of superstitions still dominant in our rural society. Over the last few years, she has worked tirelessly at exposing illegal sex determination and abortion clinics. Working tirelessly with the police in the Kolhapur District, she has been part of several sting operations which has landed twenty suspects in police custody. Ms. Geeta Hasurkar is now in the District Preconception and Prenatal Diagnostics Techniques (PCPNDT) Act Implementation Committee as a Civil Society Member. |
